How do you coordinate deliveries during the summer?

Many of our customers are schools who break up for the summer, here we share some detail on how we manage this challenge

The challenge during the summer is to continue shipping orders to the customers who are open as normal and holding back the orders for the customers we believe are closed for the summer.

We use the published LEA terms dates for each region and it all starts with Scotland who tend to break up for the summer around 3 weeks before the rest of the UK; if our records indicate your setting is a Scottish school our systems will automatically hold back your orders during the summer but throughout this period we will be allocating stock to your order so when you return we'll be ready to dispatch your goods.

For the rest of the UK our warehouse team continue to pick and pack orders as normal throughout the summer but if our records indicate they're destined to go to a school our systems automatically divert the order to storage where they'll be held securely until the first week of September when we begin the process of retrieving everything which has accumulated during the summer and start shipping them directly to our customers, due to the amount of orders that build up in storage during the summer it typically takes 2 weeks for all the store orders to reach their destinations.
